Pre-Purchase Inspections

Are you looking at purchasing a pre-loved boat?

Pre-Purchase Inspections

We highly recommend you have a pre-purchase inspection completed to get a true understanding of the health of the asset you are considering purchasing. Although a vessel may seem in “pristine” or “immaculate” condition to the untrained eye, there could be potential hazards, issues or defects that lurk deep inside. Such issues are frequently sighted on pre-purchase inspections which have the potential of becoming very costly repairs. Unfortunately, this scenario is seen far too often.

It is common to hear “I purchased a boat recently and it doesn’t seem to be running correctly”. Did you have a pre-purchase inspection completed? “No, I didn’t” ...

A pre-purchase inspection is quite detailed and only a small fraction of the purchase price of the vessel (as well as potential repairs), which is considered “cheap insurance”. Speaking of insurance, depending on the vessels age most insurers will request a survey or condition report prior to offering coverage. A pre-purchase inspection / survey (completed by a qualified marine surveyor) is more than adequate to be offered a policy by the insurer …. Simply 2 birds with one stone.
